Jia Jun has been a close friend of mine for 17 years. Before he became a financial consultant, I knew little about financial planning. I had the most basic of life insurance plans and all my savings were in either self-chosen stocks or the bank. It was a tedious process choosing the right assets to buy and timing the market right and it would have been better to allocate some of my assets to a more passive form of investment.
